Share More, Buy Less

We're building a world where communities share resources, reduce waste, and connect with their neighbours.

Our Story

Renme started during the COVID-19 pandemic in Australia. Like many others, we found ourselves restricted to a small radius from home, unable to easily access the things we needed.

One day, a simple need sparked an idea: a ladder. Instead of driving to Bunnings to buy one for a single use, why couldn't we just borrow one from a neighbour? Surely someone nearby had a ladder sitting in their garage, unused 99% of the time.

That thought led to another: what about the expensive vacuum cleaner at home, only used twice a month? Or the camping gear that comes out once a year? Or the power tools gathering dust in the shed?

“We buy things, use them once or twice, and then they sit there—taking up space, collecting dust, while someone else goes out and buys the exact same thing.”

The more we thought about it, the more we realised how much waste this creates. Not just physical waste in landfills, but wasted money, wasted resources, and wasted opportunities for human connection.

Big companies have convinced us that we each need to own everything. Buy more. Consume more. But what if the resources spent on manufacturing millions of identical items that sit unused could instead go toward innovation? Toward making better products, solving real problems, and improving our world?

The direction has to change.

That's why we built Renme. It's not about making money from rentals—it's about building a community where sharing is the default. Where your neighbours become resources, and you become a resource to them. Where we collectively own less, but have access to more.

What We Believe

Community Over Consumption

Strong communities are built on trust and reciprocity. When we share with our neighbours, we create bonds that last longer than any product.

Reduce, Reuse, Rent

Every item shared is one less item manufactured, shipped, and eventually thrown away. Small actions, multiplied across communities, create real impact.

Access Over Ownership

You don't need to own a pressure washer—you need a clean driveway. We're shifting the focus from accumulating stuff to accessing what you need, when you need it.

Innovation Over Mass Production

Imagine if the world's resources went into making things better instead of making more of the same. When we share, we free up resources for what really matters.
